NY*AK’s back!!…

I’m hoping those of you who’ve been with me since the beginning will be just excited as me at the prospect of a fresh NY*AK release.

APR002: ‘The Vulture’ was a big release for us: that difficult second release for the label and NY*AK’s debut release anywhere – but the feedback, recognition, plays and chartings we got completely blew us all away.

So both NY*AK and ourselves need to impress this time around – the bar has been set…

After a few bars of any of the five tracks on the EP, I’m sure you’ll agree that our boy’s done it again.

“Goin’ Back” states’s the EPs intentions perfectly – Soaring organs pull you in, push you straight to the floor. Next up, in true NY*AK fashion we take a left turn into spaced out beatdown journey that is title track “Tight On The White” – when I first heard this track I thought he’d sent me two..

Onwards: next we have the excellent “NoMoreMusic”. Moody, deep, brooding. A little ominous and a little bit dark – followed immediately by “SpaceSoulRetreat” – the exact opposite: a track that’ll suit any floor, oozing sunshine and good times.

We close with Jamie L’s interpretation of “SpaceSoulRetreat”. Jamie builds his remix from the chords which only appear late in NY*AK’s original – and approx 2,000,000 other samples. A perfect end to a very strong release.
