Product Description
Liverpool – Capital of Pop. Fact.
But what if it’s not popular music you seek, what if your tastes are a little more varied, more cosmopolitan? I have just what you’re looking for sir, follow me this way…
This particular tour-guide bypasses ‘The Cavern’ and heads straight for other side of town, where we find Gareth Cheshire.
Gareth is a DJ and a producer of equal merits. We won’t bore you with facts such as his affiliation with international brand ‘We Love’ or his remix being hand-picked by Yousef for one of his releases. We won’t even mention his regular slots at Circus, warming the floor for the likes of Damien Lazarus, James Zabiela, Groove Armada and Eric Prydz. We’re not here to talk about that, we’re here to talk about Gareth’s music.
“What do you want to be when you grow up Gareth?”, ask’s the young Mr Cheshire’s school teacher. “I want to be an astronaut miss!”. Every young boy has uttered those words, but Gareth has indeed took it a step further. Not quite pushing buttons for NASA just yet, but if the guys at Cape Canaverel needed a soundtrack for shuttle launches, lunar exploration and moon landing’s – Gareth’s would likely be the first number they called…
Gareth’s music is definately ‘Cosmic’, but you couln’t possibly label it as ‘Cosmic Disco’ and let that be the end of it.
His début three tracker on Audio Parallax takes influences from Nu-Disco, Cosmic Disco, maybe even Tech House…It’s obvious he pays little regard to pigeon holes and media-inflicted genres – he just makes music that feels right to him, and in doing so he creates tracks which are emotive, interesting, thought provoking and inspiring – whilst still being easily translated to any dance floor.
