Warmth. That’s one word that really resonates personally for me when listening to, talking about or dancing to house music. To me warmth, texture – is a very big part of music – and something thats sometime’s missing.

I’d like to think that when Ben Shotton – aka The Warm Signal – came up with the name, he was thinking along the same lines. Ben is another Newcastle local – and therefore close to the labels heart. His tracks have that warmth i’m talking about; that depth, that texture. I’ve been in love with ‘Roller’ for a long time. It’s got one of that basslines that instantly make my geeky-trainspotter-too-close-to-the-dj-box hairs stand on end. It is indeed, a roller.

When I asked Ben if he wanted any remixes on his debut EP – he immediately came up with three names: Mathew Kyle, MannMadeMusic and NY*AK. Call them the APR allstars if you will. All three took ‘Roller’ to their respective studios and lovingly crafted three unique, essential, beautiful remixes.

Ben added ‘High Times’ to the proceedings – deep, proper house vibes – proving his worth tenfold, and rounding the release off nicely.
